Inspirational Quote Monday! #23 of 2013
It’s Inspirational Quote Monday! Here’s the quote for the week – “Life is meaningless only if we allow it to be. Each of us has the power to give life meaning, to make our time and our bodies and our words into instruments of love and hope.” – Tom Head
I just got done reading “The Bride the Brute” in a few hours. I was amazed at how the story got me to smile. I thought I had exhuasted romance novels 10 years ago. I have few sugestions & am now curious enougth to look into your other works. The story was paced in such a way I didn’t get bored & skip pages or stop reading all togather. Since the story was not in depth & the characters were not endearing enough (cause I didn’t get to know them), I probably won’t remember the books name, authors, or any of the personalities besides Morse.
While that may sound bad, I would like to explain why I am never the less impressed. By 6th grade I started to read some of the 300-1k page books. Going through 3 to 6 books a week, I went through all the fantasy & sci-fi I could find. Checked out some of the mysteries & decieded beside two authors (sneakypie brown & moose county) I didn’t care for violence. Skipped wresterns after brushing through some pages, went to sleep over autobiographies & eventually exhuasted reserching other cultures, arts & crafts.
Shopping for books is HARD, already read all the good ones & the authors I trust & adore, do not write as fast as I read. Each author I have found, only took me a few months mixed in with other authors to read through all their common works. I don’t read very often anymore, I tend to go towards graphic novels, asain dramas & anime for amusement withsome occasinal video games.
Thank you for the story, I am happy I spent time reading it.
Hi Priscilla –
I’m glad you enjoyed The Bride and the Brute. I’m also glad you smiled. Thanks so much for taking the time to write. If you pick up one of my other novels, please let me know what you think.
I agree finding novels you enjoy is difficult. Sometimes, I will stop reading a novel if it hasn’t engaged me quickly. I don’t have time to waste on characters I don’t care about or plots that don’t intrigue me. I don’t read as much as I used to, either. I enjoy reading Victoria Alexander’s regency romances. Sometimes I read horror novels. You should try my Lost Souls novellas. They are quick, short reads like The Bride and the Brute, but set in modern day with an element of the supernatural.
Thanks again for writing!
