Knights –

Is there anything more romantic than a knight in shining armor?  Handsome and intimidating on his warhorse, full plate armor or chain mail protecting his body, holding a lance or a sword.  Glorious.  Magnificent.  Strong.  The medieval knight embodies chivalry.  In my novels, my hero is almost always a knight.  I enjoy writing about troubled alpha males who, despite their physical strength, need love to redeem them.  But did you know that there were also women knights?  They were very few in number, but there are instances of them throughout history, such as Joan of Arc.  In The Angel and the Prince, I take advantage of this historical fact and make Ryen a knight, giving her the skills to rival those of my hero, Bryce.
